In class they are being taught the choreography for the spring recital which can, at times, overwhelm them.  Please help us better prepare your star for her moment in the spotlight with regular attendance and at home practice.  To make the task easier the older dancers should come to class with a notebook AND A PEN/PENCIL and the younger dancers should have a folder to safe-keep the notes they are given.  You are also invited to bring in a blank CD so that we can send home practice music. 

We’ll help all we can but none of this: the note taking, the note giving, the copies of music will be of any value unless regular practice time is setup and used.  We strongly suggest that your dancer practice daily but we also are realists and hope that you will structure a practice session OR THREE between classes.

For the recital each class is assigned a specific color of tights and shoe(s) to wear.  We order all the beige and pink tights from one company so that all the dancers will have a uniform appearance.  A sign-up sheet is on the front bulletin board.   Tights ordered by the due-date will receive the group’s discounted price.  If you miss the deadline you will have to pay the difference plus shipping so please don’t put off placing your order.  Tights from previous years can be used if they are in good shape and have not been washed too often.  Those assigned white tights are free to get your own or to order them though the studio. I will say that the discount store tights are cheaper but will not hold up as well so be sure you buy a backup pair if you choose that route.

Our picture day is April 10^th and I have already had a few time-slot requests.  If you know of a dual commitment for your dancer on that date please let me know so that I can work the schedule to accommodate you if possible.

April 10 – Studio pictures at OLP

June 3 – 6 p.m., Kaskaskia College, Dress Rehearsal – attendance required

June 5 – Recital, time to be determined

            If at any time you have a question about the schedule, the routine, the costume, etc. please don’t hesitate to ask.  The closer we get to June the more demanding the schedule is so don’t wait till the last moment – ask as things arise.
